Day One

Time And Again

“Making the most of every opportunity,
because the days are evil ”.
                                                                              Ephesians 5:16

Time, and its management, or mismanagement, is directly related to our listing and maintenance of our priorities.  The higher the priority, the more time is allotted for that pursuit.  Therefore, when we state that we do not have enough time for a quiet communication with our Lord, or enough time for family activities or church functions, we are really stating that those interests simply do not factor high enough on our priority scale for a larger allotment of our precious time.

If we took the time for a proper analyzing of our minutes of the day, each one of us would see that we spend the majority of our time on selfish pursuits and dreams that will not survive the closing of this world.  So, why do we limit ourselves to the mortal when eternity beckons us to take part in its glorious dance?  Is it because we do possess the faith to see how much impact true sanctification of ourselves could accomplish on the fallen world around us?  Or is it simply because we are too selfish to care?

It is time to shake off the tyranny of this time-dominated culture and accept the heritage of eternal time as dictated by the Cause of Christ.  The only way to realize this destiny is to properly assume our place in the will of God.  Once inside the will of God, time is realized so that the entirety of His cause can be enacted.  Do you not have enough time to accomplish what you want?  Maybe that is because you are not doing what He wants.

·  Application - How am I spending the time the Lord has given me?  Have I been
purchasing broken dreams and mortal wares or am I purchasing treasure that awaits in
    Heaven?
