Let God Quiet You

“He makes me lie down in green pastures;He leads me beside quiet waters.”
Psalms 23:2

          God is our silence and our stillness.  When we are content in Him and in His direction, we will find rest and rejuvenation.  That is part of His plan for our lives.  He wants to give us rest.  He longs to provide us with a quiet place to rest our heads and gain strength for our battles.  He knows that we cannot go and go and go without a time of rest.  It’s all part of His plan.

          We make ourselves so busy and our lives so full of stuff, that we don’t take God’s restful opportunities.  We allow the noise of this world to choke us and constrain us so far that we experience the warning signs.  We start to get ulcers and the constant stress affects our health in numerous ways.  The cares of the world overshadow the reality of God.

          But praise be to God who loves us and knows that what is best for us is simple silence and rejuvenating rest.  He leads all of us who belong to Him to the still waters for refreshment.  Now, whether we stay there at the waters and drink until we are renewed is completely up to us.  But doesn’t our Creator know exactly what we need when we need it?  Take the rest when it is offered.  He knows you will need it.
